Software Developer C++/Python

We're seeking a Software Developer proficient in C++ and Python for a long-term project starting ASAP. Join a stable, 25-year-old meteorological company that creates globally used software. Be part of a 80+ member team focused on developing meteorological software and providing customer support.

Job description:

• Support our customer support team promptly and resourcefully
• Fix bugs that appear in the operating environment
• Ensure problems are fully resolved, not just temporarily hidden

Requirements:

• Advanced C++ skills (standard library, Boost, templates, exceptions). Willing to learn C++ if proficient in other languages
• Intermediate Python skills
• Team-based software development experience (corporate or open source)
• Interest in long-term employment
• Intermediate English proficiency for documentation and occasional customer communication

Nice to have:

• Creative in designing new algorithms
• User interface design experience
• Qt UI framework experience
• Knowledge of scientific Python modules (numpy, scipy)
• Basic GIS experience (SHP, GeoJSON, GML)
• Web services and general web development experience
• Experience with cloud technologies (especially Amazon EC2)
• Basic understanding of geometry and numerical computations
• Linux or Windows OS administration skills
