General Description
We are looking for an experienced Java backend developer to join a six-member agile Scrum team. You will contribute to the development of online betting solutions and to the entire application lifecycle—from design and implementation through testing to operations.
This position is suitable for someone interested in performance, scalability, modern technologies, and high-quality solution design.
What will you be doing?
- Developing backend applications in Java and on the Spring Boot platform.
- Designing solutions based on Domain-Driven Design principles; developers also contribute to architecture design and requirements analysis.
- Developing solutions capable of handling large data spikes, for example when evaluating sporting events.
- Working with asynchronous and reactive technologies, particularly JavaRx, Spring WebFlux, Kafka Streams, Project Reactor, Apache Kafka, and Kotlin coroutines.
- Developing functional prototypes and testing their performance, as well as continuously tuning applications.
- Storing data in PostgreSQL, Apache Ignite, and Apache Kafka.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of internal GUI applications in JavaFX and Flutter; this area is optional.
- Preparing builds and deploying applications on Linux; using SaltStack, Jenkins, GitLab, Apache Maven, and Sonatype Nexus.
- Performing code reviews through merge requests and working with Gitflow.
- Monitoring applications using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager.
- Storing and searching logs and streams in Elasticsearch and Kibana.
- Working in an agile environment, including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and sprint reviews with demos.
- Actively contributing ideas and experimenting with new technologies and frameworks.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Java development.
- Experience with backend development, ideally with Spring, JDBC, SQL, messaging, and caching technologies.
- Knowledge of the latest Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Experience with Java from at least Java 8; new applications are developed on OpenJDK 11 and later.
- First-cycle university degree.
- Interest in new technologies and trends, and willingness to learn new things.
- Interest in application performance tuning, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Kotlin, JavaFX, or Flutter, and with reactive or asynchronous programming, is an advantage.
- Experience with static code analysis, quality assurance automation, and operational monitoring is an advantage.
