We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join a team, where you will play a key role in fostering a culture of high-quality software development, upholding continuous risk accountability, and driving the technical vision within the Research & Sustainability product area.
Job description:
- Mentorship & Team Development:
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers in their professional growth
- Help product owners prioritize and scope change requests based on business value and resource availability
- Project Management:
- Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of software projects
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations
- Technical Leadership:
- Make key decisions on system architecture, design, and implementation
- Participate in hands-on development of new features and products
- Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with data analytics engineers, product owners, application engineers, and other stakeholders
- Define project requirements and deliverables in cross-functional teams
- Innovation & Industry Awareness:
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Foster a culture of innovation within the team
- Issue Resolution & Documentation:
- Address and resolve technical issues to ensure software stability and performance
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including technical specs, project plans, and progress reports
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a lead engineer or in a similar role
- Proficiency in software development in multiple languages and frameworks is a must
- Experience with system integration of third-party providers (SaaS) is beneficial
- Familiarity with at least two of the following and willingness to learn about the others:
- Java, Angular, Node.js, Python, R, TypeScript, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL and Cloudflare
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is important
- A strong dedication to ongoing learning and professional growth is essential
