Senior Frontend Engineer

For an international company developing its own hospital software product, we are looking for an experienced candidate for the position of Senior Frontend Engineer.

The product is deployed in real hospital operations in more than 20 hospitals in France, including two university hospitals. It helps doctors and nurses safely manage treatment, prescribe medication, and plan care, while also supporting the anonymization of healthcare data for medical research.

Technology stack:

• Frontend: React.js, JavaScript, TypeScript and Material-UI.
• Data: REST/JSON API.
• Protocols: HL7.

Requirements:

• More than 10 years of experience in software engineering, including at least the last 3 years focused on frontend development.
• Senior-level expertise in React.js and JavaScript.
• The ability to delve deeply into problems, understand the relationships and structure of the underlying data, and independently design both the logic and behavior of the user interface.
• Willingness and ability to work in JavaScript as well, since a significant part of the existing code is written in this language.
• Independence, accountability, and the ability to complete tasks without micromanagement.
• Conversational English; collaboration with the French product team takes place in English.

The client is developing a complex hospital software product with a long-term vision. The development team is based in Slovakia, while the product and medical leadership is located in Annecy, France. The product is in operation in more than 20 French hospitals and is used every day by thousands of doctors and nurses.

Selection process:

1. Initial interview lasting approximately 30–60 minutes, including introductions, a presentation of the project, and alignment of mutual expectations.
2. Approximately 4-hour technical test completed remotely. This is a practical task that was actually solved and used in the hospital application.
3. Review of the assignment lasting approximately 30–60 minutes, focusing on the correctness of the solution, the approach, analysis, understanding of the assignment, and implementation of a change to the assignment.
4. Interview with management and alignment of the terms of cooperation.
