Senior Backend Engineer

For an international team developing its own hospital software product, we are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer.

The product has been deployed in real hospital operations since 2016 and currently supports the operations of more than 20 hospitals in France, including two university hospitals. It helps thousands of doctors and nurses safely manage treatment, prescribe medication, and plan care. At the same time, it structures healthcare data for medical research purposes.

Required experience and skills:

• More than 10 years of experience in software engineering, including at least the last 3 years focused on backend development.
• Senior-level expertise in Node.js and JavaScript; a significant part of the product is written in JavaScript, so a willingness and ability to actively program in this language is essential.
• Experience designing and developing backend services, REST APIs, and working with the Express.js framework.
• Practical knowledge of MongoDB, including data modeling.
• Ability to understand the behavior of distributed systems.
• Experience integrating medical systems and working with the HL7 standard.
• Experience with testing using Mocha, Chai, and Supertest.
• Experience with GitLab and Jira.
• Analytical and architectural thinking, with the ability to investigate problems in depth and design solutions.
• Autonomy, accountability, and the ability to complete tasks without micromanagement.
• Communicative English; collaboration with the French product team takes place in English.
