General Description
We are looking for a Project Owner to lead complex data and AI transformation projects from initial discovery and scoping through solution design, delivery and go-live.
The role combines business development, solution shaping and hands-on delivery leadership. You will bridge business needs and technical delivery while working with data professionals on European projects for industry-leading clients.
What will you be doing?
- Lead data and AI transformation projects end to end, from discovery and scoping to solution shaping, delivery and go-live.
- Act as the bridge between the client, delivery team and business.
- Ensure that commitments made during scoping remain realistic and aligned with the delivered solution.
- Support clients throughout their data journey and help turn data platform concepts into practical transformation programmes.
- Help use generative AI models to accelerate migrations from legacy data warehouses such as SAP BW, Oracle and Teradata to modern cloud-first data platforms.
- Work with small, focused teams of 2–5 people in an agile environment, collaborating with engineers, analysts, data scientists and project managers.
- Prepare proposals, lead workshops and steer complex client conversations.
- Translate client needs into a clear plan for building the required solution.
- Support the optimization of large data pipelines.
Requirements
- Experience in new business development, consulting, pre-sales or client-facing delivery involving data platforms, analytics, cloud or broader technology transformation.
- Solid working knowledge of Databricks, including common use cases, architecture principles and business relevance.
- Hands-on experience with platform modernization or migration initiatives, including legacy data warehouse migrations, lakehouse projects or cloud moves.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience preparing proposals, facilitating workshops or managing challenging client discussions.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Interest in optimizing large data pipelines.
- Previous hands-on experience with SAP BW data is an advantage.
- Basic Python knowledge is an advantage.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from and contribute to a skilled team.
The technology environment includes Databricks, Python, Power BI, dbt and SQL, with deployments on Azure, Google Cloud Platform and AWS. Experience with migrations to Google BigQuery, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric is welcome.
