General Description
We are looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to translate approved solution designs into production-ready ServiceNow implementations aligned with platform best practices. The role requires ownership of story-level implementation decisions, including code structure, testing strategy, and deployment readiness.
The position is performed within the CET time zone.
What will you be doing?
Development and implementation
- Translate approved solution designs into production-ready ServiceNow implementations aligned with platform best practices.
- Develop across ServiceNow capabilities, including ITSM, CSM, FSM and/or other product lines.
- Develop custom applications using Flow Designer and IntegrationHub.
- Work with Service Portal and/or UI Builder.
- Implement scripting and automation using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs, UI Policies and related platform components.
- Implement clean, maintainable JavaScript following SOLID principles, code readability standards and platform performance guidelines.
- Use TypeScript where appropriate.
Integration and data flows
- Build and maintain integrations with external systems such as Azure API Management, SnapLogic, SAP and Azure Blob Storage using established enterprise patterns.
- Implement and support REST and SOAP APIs, authentication patterns and payload contracts.
- Work with Import Sets and Transform Maps, including data normalization and reconciliation.
- Implement scheduled interfaces and event-driven flows where applicable.
- Design robust integration behavior, including logging, retries, error handling, compensating actions and operational traceability.
- Support incident and problem resolution by analyzing logs, tracing data flows and identifying root causes in owned applications and integrations.
Quality, peer review and governance
- Conduct and champion high-quality peer reviews focused on maintainability, reuse, simplicity, platform performance, scalability, security and adherence to engineering standards and guardrails.
- Ensure changes meet the definition of done, including documentation, tests, review sign-off and readiness for higher-tier promotion.
- Proactively identify, communicate and reduce technical debt by proposing improvements and implementing refactoring when appropriate.
- Adhere to technical governance and ensure implementations receive authorized technical approval from the Solution Architect or nominated authority before promotion.
Requirements
- Senior-level experience with ServiceNow development and implementation.
- Experience with ServiceNow capabilities such as ITSM, CSM, FSM, custom applications, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Service Portal and/or UI Builder.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow scripting and automation components, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs and UI Policies.
- Strong JavaScript development skills; TypeScript is an advantage.
- Knowledge of SOLID principles, maintainable code, testing strategy and deployment readiness.
- Experience building and maintaining integrations with Azure API Management, SnapLogic, SAP and Azure Blob Storage.
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs, authentication patterns, payload contracts, Import Sets, Transform Maps, data normalization and reconciliation.
- Ability to analyze logs, trace data flows and identify root causes.
- Ability to perform peer reviews with a focus on maintainability, reuse, simplicity, performance, scalability and security.
- Understanding of least privilege, safe scripting, secure integrations, technical standards and governance.
- Ability to manage technical debt, propose improvements and perform refactoring.
